Robert Schreuder became involved in antiques at a young age. He studied law in Leiden, Bordeaux and Bologna, and since 2000 he has built up his own antiques business, Robert Schreuder Antiques, while also continuing to work as a lawyer. Over the years, he has assembled a remarkable collection: antique Grand Tour souvenirs, study objects and collectibles, including writing boxes and tea caddies, and also furniture from the neoclassical, Empire and Biedermeier periods. Robert’s collection can be viewed at the Art Fair 's-Hertogenbosch (the oldest fair in The Netherlands) and at the Art and Antiques Weekend at the Grote Kerk in Naarden; increasing numbers of collectors are also visiting his “open-house weekends” in his nineteenth-century home in the centre of Amsterdam.
